Disappearing Act

Danielle had off today for Veteran's day, so I had the day off too. But tonight she had a Board Meeting for the Neighborhood so I was on duty. Amanda brought Barrett over this afternoon and we were playing outside. Jacob had a box of Wheat Thins. He was sharing with Olivia and Barrett, but he would only give them one cracker at a time. Amber was hovering around Barrett and snatched up his cracker! Danielle went to the meeting and Amanda and Barrett went home, so the kids and I went in and had leftover chili for dinner. We had to run some paperwork someone had dropped off at the house after Danielle already left up to the meeting. When we got back Jacob asked if he could take a bath, so I gave them baths. They got into pjs and we sat on the couch to read Cinderella. Danielle got home, but then went down the street to talk to Jennifer. Olivia asking where Mommy was, and I kept telling her, she went to Ms. Jennifer's she'll be right back. Then she kept opening the front door and looking out, but she was only wearing a pajama top and undies, so I kept telling her to close the door, because besides her being indecent it was a little chilly. I had to use the bathroom so I locked the front door so she would quit opening it, and went into the bathroom. She was at the bathroom door fiddling with the handle and talking to me, both of them always do that, but I couldn't hear what she was saying. I came out a minute later, and the front door was wide open. I went running out and shouting for Olivia and called Danielle's cell. Neither of them answered. I went back inside and was yelling for Olivia, and asked Jacob, who was playing in his room, "Where's your sister?" He was very helpful, "I don't know, where's my sister?" I made sure she wasn't just not answering me and went through the house quickly, I called Danielle again at some point, and in my search for Olivia I realized that Amber was gone too. So I grabbed Jacob and went back outside to search for Olivia, I was going to start down at Jennifer's and then really freak out. Just as we got halfway down the driveway, Danielle, Olivia, and Amber were on their way up the sidewalk. Mystery solved. She had unlocked the door, which she knows how to do Danielle said, (even tho she can't open the front door from the outside or open the car door...) and went and knocked on the door, with no pants on. Danielle wondered why I let her go down the street not dressed. She didn't have her phone with her, but heard someone yelling. I told Olivia that that was naughty and she can't go outside if I'm not around. She never did anything like that before and hopefully she won't again, I aged 5 years! Just kidding. Hopefully... My favorite birthday wish I got this year was on Facebook from my friend Todd, he said "Happy first anniversary of your 21st birthday!" I told him that was my favorite birthday wish, but that I was also horrified that I am now old enough to have anniversaries of past birthdays. I can't afford to age any faster than the normal rate!
